Questions came up through some particular statements in the media: What is a real Shaolin Temple? What is its purpose?

Referring to this the abbot of the Shaolin Temple Germany grandmaster Shi Yong Chuan made the following statement.

Confirmation  

I hereby confirm that the Shaolin Temple Germany is the only German branch of the world famous Songshan Shaolin Temple of the province Henan/China. There is no second branch in Germany yet. In order to be considered as branch, certain requirements must be fulfilled. For example, there must be an authorization by the mothertemple to use the name “Shaolin Temple”. The abbot of the branch must come from the mothertemple and also must be listed in the register of the Shaolin Temple in China as an ordained monk. Furthermore he has to be officially nominated by the abbot of the mothertemple. Without these requirements nobody has the right to call his organisation “Shaolin Temple”.

Neulich haben manche Leute ständig illegal im Namen „Shaolin“, „Shaolin Tempel“, „Shaolin Mönche“ oder „Shaolin Kung-Fu Mönche“ in und außerhalb Chinas Tätigkeiten wie Shows und Ausbildungen durchgeführt, was das Image des Shaolin Klosters beeinträchtigt und relativ große negative Wirkungen verursacht hat. Aus diesem Grund macht das Shaolin Kloster folgende Erklärung:

1. Alle Mönche, die vom Shaolin Kloster zum kulturellen Austausch beauftragt sind, besitzen offizielle rechtliche Auftragsbescheinigung des Shaolin Klosters. Die Bescheinigung ist mit dem Dienstsiegel des Songshan Shaolin Kloster China gesiegelt und mit der persönlichen Unterschrift des Abtes des Shaolin Klosters Shi Yongxin versehen.
